Today has been about chores, fixing things, and problem-solving. The seas have calmed right down to nothing, so it is motor time. I have arranged for the main sail to be repaired once I land in Ensenada, which is a relief. Currently waiting for the wind to fill in. Apparently it is supposed to at 5:27.
I have two concerns due to the loss of the main. With no main up, sailing upwind or reaching is not very efficient, so strategically I am trying to keep myself in a position to approach Ensenada by sailing downwind. That means coming closer to the coast, which means more marine traffic. The other concern is fuel burn. I will burn this tank, and the next twenty-one days might end up being a motor-fest. It is going to be close, but at this point all I can do is motor efficiently and try to sail as much as possible.
With the main I would not be that worried. Without it I have some low-level stress, but I believe if I line it up right we are all good. Ha. I think I have said that before and regretted it. Anyway, we have travelled seven hundred and fifty nautical miles, the butter is now soft, and there are six hundred and twelve to go.
