Today has been full of problem-solving and a few F-bombs sent to the ether. It started in the middle of the night when low-battery alarms went off, which most importantly meant I would lose the autopilot. So I got up, turned the motor on to charge, and disconnected the AC, which includes internet, to charge faster. Then back to bed for a bit more sleep.

When I woke up the battery had more charge, but the Starlink would not pick up a satellite. On top of that, the wind had changed and we were going nowhere. The battery still did not have a lot of juice either, and I suspected the autopilot as the protagonist in that particular story. No internet means no weather reports, so the first thing I did was download a weather report from the sat phone, and send a message saying fine, but no internet. New skill learned, the tech side of me picked it up quick.

With the wind dying I needed a larger sail, and something for downwind. So up went Jadadog, my go-to light-wind sail, with a few missteps. Then it was time to learn how to use the hydrovane, which is the mechanical autopilot, and that turned out to be pretty easy too. Now I wait for the wind to build, and try to close some of the distance.
