Day three of these conditions and things have picked up a bit. The wind has been consistently over twenty knots and the sea state is more confused now, with waves arriving from a few different directions instead of one. Anything on deck takes a little more effort and a little more timing. I may need to reef further. There is another squall on the radar, and reefing early is usually the right call.

The last twenty-four hours were another record for Cloud Nine, which is satisfying to see. Today we are a touch slower, mostly because the autopilot is working harder than it would like. Not much sea life around either. Just one bird I could not quite identify. I did catch my first fish, a mahi mahi, but it was on the small side, so back it went.
