Once on the water, I was heading into a light head wind, so it made no sense to try and sail. I motored my way to the east side of Isla Jacques Cousteau, where I was able to get the wind on my back. With that, I put up the main and the genoa and set them up to fly wing-on-wing. We are cruising along nicely and taking advantage of about a knot of favourable current, so we are getting four to five knots out of nine to eleven knots of wind. Seas are calm. I will take that with a smile.

Lots of non-AIS boats to keep an eye on, so I will be up on the deck most of the night. At one point I was taking a small nap and was suddenly very awake, convinced there was a huge orange-lit cruise ship heading right for us. Then I started to come properly to my senses and realised it was the moon, rising over the water in its own dramatic style.
