Yesterday, although incredibly beautiful, was a pretty tough go. For most of the day I had two to three knots of current set against me, and the average speed was around four knots. The sea state had us bouncing around pretty good, so it was a day of sitting still, eating when you could, and hanging in there.
Sometime last night the seas chilled out and we got some boat speed back. I have turned the boat twenty degrees to starboard to get some distance from the upcoming land features, and to position us for the wind turning back to the north today. PredictWind says ten in the morning, but I will take any time today gladly. Below us, Tropical Storm Raymond is hitting Cabo today. It will be cleared by the time I get there. PS, on the fishing front, I must have hooked something pretty big, because when I brought one of the lines in, the hook had been straightened. Yikes. Another reason to stay in the boat.
